Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?
I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA
Thank you,
Laura

@lalyfa In 2010 I went off a cocktail of psychotropics including antidepressants, antianxiety and antipsychotics cold turkey. The meds were wrong for me and the withdrawal was severe and I rarely slept, had RLS, neuropathy and cranky beyond words. Some of these meds took 9+ months to clear my system. Be sure to follow doctor's advice. I did not have a doctor at the time and would not go to the ER knowing it would have resulted in more abuse. Not an intelligent thing to do and not sorry I made the choice even though the experience was horrific and would not reccomend anyone go this route. As to how long the withdrawal lasts the best thing is to discuss this with a pharmacist as this is where their training is and they understand much better and be of help. Wishing you the best.
I found this. Hopefully not more than a week or two off the Effexor but I don't know what else you're getting off. I, too, am SLOWLY tapering off a benzo, clonazepam, as if you get off too quickly, it's hell, I know. Best to you, may you feel well soon.

Glad you're off that stuff and sorry to hear about the hell of cold turkey on that stuff. I've had a taste of that horror missing doses of a benzo, clonazepam, and now tapering slowly over 5 months. The other things - weed psychological addiction, sugar, caffeine, gonna white knuckle the weed as I'm out soon and saving to take the bar exam. I'm going to try using CBD oil as I heard it's effective at reducing anxiety, lifting mood, and so on. Thank you for sharing and wishing you, too, and us all, good health and peace. Will ask my pharmacist about expected withdrawal. Thank you!
@parus thank you for your reply! Wow I’m sure you went through much more than me but now your experience is helping others! I never thought to check with my pharmacist but it sounds like a wise suggestion! Thank you!
Been on CBD oil for 7 days seems to help some but I have break through depression like today which is causing crying and nausea, have my self wrapped up in blankets fighting all this crap which has been caused from coming off Lyrica. Have a vape but it scares me I’ve never done anything like that
Curious as to where you got and what brand of CBD oil you are using?
Wishing you an easier coming off Lyrica. I can relate as I'm tapering off clonazepam 4 mg, under doctor recommended 5 month schedule, but getting off sugar and weed can also be temporarily hellish. But personal freedom from psychologically/physically addictive substances, to me, is well worth it. Wishing us all an easy time with this and future happiness and peace.
Supposed to be one of the purest and best. (I have no affiliation with the company, "Green Roads.") Their website - https://www.greenroadsworld.com/
I bought a one day supply (can be bought in economical sizes, too) 1 ML dropper under my tongue. I have to experiment / research the proper dosage for me.
Thanks I’ll check it out!
Hi @lalyfa, I have been on a lot of antidepressants. Effexor, Celexa, Zoloft , Prozac, and recently Cymbalta (and a few I've forgotten) - cymbalta for fibromyalgia and depression. When I was younger in my 40's Effexor and Celexa did work but now that I am 60 and have more issues, they both caused electricity in my body. And I have enough of that so I couldn't stay on them. Cymbalta contributed to horrible insomnia. So I did a bit of research and bought some CBD oil and some gummies and I won't be buying them again. I don't think I felt any better with the oil. The gummies which run between $1 to $3 a piece may have helped w/depression a tiny tiny bit, not enough to continue to spend money on them. So overall I give the oil and gummies a zero. Everyone is different so who knows for you. And I believe they are legal in all states, but for me there was no difference on or off of them.
