Bronchiectasis and rib cage pain

I dont know if it is typical but i have had rib pain which has ceased since the big 3 plus IV Amakacin...mlbidgee

I cold not take amikican, affected my kidneys

@myrnamae Hello Myrna Mae! Welcome to our Connect group. I am sorry your rib area is hurting. Been there, done that. I used to get pain around the rib cage from pulling muscles there, (due to violent coughing). Are you coughing a lot?

Not sure if rob pain but having back pain around area of the lungs. Use heating pad on low. I hv fibrosis and Bronchiectasis. No MAC. Seeing pulmonologist this Tuesday 18th. Take care

@myrnamae...Some rib pain is typical due to the constant coughing. However, I had
severe pain around my entire chest from the irritated nerves. Acupuncture helped me stop the pain and cut way down on the coughing, so consider this option if heating pads, relaxation and preventing exacerbations don't work.

Yes I have Rib pain with Bronchiectasis.

I have MAC/BE and at the time I was diagnosed in March of 2023, I was experiencing rib pain due to my coughing and then I learned I had cracked 3 of my ribs from the coughing. My exercise is usually walking 1-3 miles a day. With the cracked ribs and trying to exercise, I had to take a month off from the walking because I couldn't walk and breathe without pain. There is very little that can be done for cracked (or broken) ribs, so patience is important and the pain does pass.

I also have chest pain and chest tightness. I was diagnosed with MAC and bronchiectasis September 2023.

Also intermittent sternum pain.

Severe lower lobe area pain and mid back pain and twitching. I take Gabapentin and Tylenol 4, doesn’t provide much relief
