Music Helps Me
At times music can be helpful. I like the group Anthem Lights...A new discovery for me when I was perusing youtube. A Capella has always been my thing. I love to sing!!!!!

@contentandwell, Hi, JK, a good friend posted response to my "Memories" share with friends not in our groups: Lyrics to “Memories” produced by Adam Levine and Maroon Five: https://genius.com/Maroon-5-memories-lyrics
@hopeful33250; @gingerw; @lioness;and others, Thanks again for posting this Teresa.
Like beloved pets, what Ginger expressed is so true. Both music and pets can transport us to places in ways nothing else can touch. Ginger, I absolutely suspect that your message was overly modest! In my musical experience, duet performances were given by "like gifted voices"...um hmm. Smiles
Linda, like you, I sang in church, college and community choirs for many years. There is something about joining with others in lifting our voices that brings a gift each time it occurs.
"Dancing in the Sky" with beautiful video and lyrics was a piece new to me: Hope you enjoy:
@fiesty76 Alice that is beautiful . We will be dancing in the sky for sure . So many choirs yes I hope I get to see Karen she was my piano player when I soloed and our organist . I started to sing in choirs when I was 15 now karaoke? when we have had it no sing and open windows hope the neighbors like it haha .
Music was my career. . I am retired now and I miss it. Anyway, my voice is no longer what it used to be. I did opera and musical theatre. In musical theatre I was in "The King and I", South Pacific" "Carousel" "Oklahoma" Those were the days!
How fabulous to have such wonderful memories and still enjoy music!
Dear Mezzo,
I am just a plain old soprano. I do not have your range or quality of tone of a mezzo!
I was a voice minor in college and have sung in various church, civic groups and a wonderful chorale. I now sing in our senior center chorus conducted by a college professor of music. Pure joy!
We are on “break” because of the 👾👾🤴🏻Corona
But we are going to try an online Zoom practice.
We all miss singing!! It is therapeutic and takes one to a different place! Bring back “those days” with others
to other seniors😮😲
Keep singing!
Keep singing, Lioness!
I wondered why a woman who sits next to me never sang. I was new to the group and just kept singing.
Later I learned that this woman was Into her 90’s and did not like the sounds she produced 🤬
She comes every week to listen.
God bless her!
@helenfrances I try but without our Kereoke it's hard I just open the windows and sing I was a soprano in church but my voice is Alto I do a mean Patsy Cline now being from the east Keep singing for sure Ellen and mezzo
Patsy Cline, ah yes!
So many good ‘country’ singers
Dolly Partin!(Spelling?)and...
@helenfrances, Ellen what a great story!!!! I love that at age 90+, she shows up each week to listen!!!
@mezzosoprano, What a gift and how many smiles you brought to others during your musical career! Growing up in a small TX town, I became an avid collector of 331/3 rpm? records. Not until an adult was I able to experience live opera, symphony and musical productions. At 76, I still have and enjoy a lifetime record collection of operas, musicals, and symphonies.
