Music Helps Me
At times music can be helpful. I like the group Anthem Lights...A new discovery for me when I was perusing youtube. A Capella has always been my thing. I love to sing!!!!!

@hopeful33250, Oh, my, my, my, Teresa. This is beautiful. Because my dearest friend and also beloved teacher of young children for decades passed away just weeks ago, I cannot fully express how deeply touched I am by this childrens’ choir.
Are you listening as you smile and tap your toes, Barbara? Thought so.

4 Reactions@fiesty76 When I watched it, immediately my mind went back to my seventh grade. I was introduced to Mrs. Tipton, the music teacher, by my new best friend Dorothy. Now, truthfully, Dorothy was gifted with a naturally beautiful soprano voice. The time spent in that room, surrounded by voices, nurtured a deep love of music for me. Dorothy and I went on to sing duets together for several years, and I still love to sing.
Isn't it amazing how music reaches in and touches a very deep part of one's soul?

2 Reactions@contentandwell, Hi, JK, a good friend posted response to my "Memories" share with friends not in our groups: Lyrics to “Memories” produced by Adam Levine and Maroon Five: https://genius.com/Maroon-5-memories-lyrics
@hopeful33250; @gingerw; @lioness;and others, Thanks again for posting this Teresa.
Like beloved pets, what Ginger expressed is so true. Both music and pets can transport us to places in ways nothing else can touch. Ginger, I absolutely suspect that your message was overly modest! In my musical experience, duet performances were given by "like gifted voices"...um hmm. Smiles
Linda, like you, I sang in church, college and community choirs for many years. There is something about joining with others in lifting our voices that brings a gift each time it occurs.
"Dancing in the Sky" with beautiful video and lyrics was a piece new to me: Hope you enjoy:

2 ReactionsMusic was my career. . I am retired now and I miss it. Anyway, my voice is no longer what it used to be. I did opera and musical theatre. In musical theatre I was in "The King and I", South Pacific" "Carousel" "Oklahoma" Those were the days!

2 ReactionsDear Mezzo,
I am just a plain old soprano. I do not have your range or quality of tone of a mezzo!
I was a voice minor in college and have sung in various church, civic groups and a wonderful chorale. I now sing in our senior center chorus conducted by a college professor of music. Pure joy!
We are on “break” because of the 👾👾🤴🏻Corona
But we are going to try an online Zoom practice.
We all miss singing!! It is therapeutic and takes one to a different place! Bring back “those days” with others
to other seniors😮😲
Keep singing!

3 ReactionsKeep singing, Lioness!
I wondered why a woman who sits next to me never sang. I was new to the group and just kept singing.
Later I learned that this woman was Into her 90’s and did not like the sounds she produced 🤬
She comes every week to listen.
God bless her!
