Music Helps Me

Posted by Parus @parus, Oct 13, 2017

At times music can be helpful. I like the group Anthem Lights...A new discovery for me when I was perusing youtube. A Capella has always been my thing. I love to sing!!!!!

Thanks Ginger! @gingerw - Just did a search and found this one in sign language but probably not the one you were referring to. My mother grew up in an orphanage and learned sign language. She tried to teach me but I wasn't a good learner at the time 🙁

@johnbishop This is the video that made me cry when I saw it, for the emotion it triggered

I have studied sign language, as my fourth language. When we got married, I signed Josh Groban's song "You Raise Me up", to my husband on the beach, while the song played in the background. Back in 2013, just after my dad passed, when I was presenting an American flag to a club he belonged to, I signed and simultaneously spoke my message. As he went deaf, I taught him some sign language, in order for him to feel "part of" a conversation. It is a beautiful language, and has many versions/accents, just like English!
