When I was dealing with acid reflux, I experienced regular congestion in my throat. Drinking a little lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, mixed with water or tea, would often clear my throat. But I had to be careful as too much lemon juice or acv would aggravate my reflux. Sending healing energy your way!

Ever since after my throat and neck radiation almost 4 1/2 years ago I have a building up of mucous above my soft palate. Actually above my whole palate 24/7 that I can't blow out of my nose. The only thing that loosens the sticky stuff up is an aerosol of saline nasal spray. I spray enough until I can taste the salt from the back of my tongue. Then go back to the sofa sitting up 4 AM with my head propped back to feel the thick mocous starts to ooze down where I can snort it out and spit it out. This morning I am lucky to catch an hour sleep. The roof of my mouth felt like it had lard and my also blistered sensation. I know I had 33 lymph nodes removed on the left side of my neck because 2 were positive. So I am wondering if it is lymphatic fluids building up there. It's so much of a problem I can't swallow any food or take a nice gulp of liquid because of the obstruction above my soft palate. I have a stomach tube close to 5 years now to take in Glucerna 3 times aday.

Experience episodes wherein my throat is clogged with phlegm. Frightening. For a time there is no relief. On one occasion I found hot coffee somewhat helpful., Today I experienced another episode. Eventually a gob of phlegm came up. It is frightening to say the least. There are devices advertised in or by Amazon that are devised for vacuuming phlegm from the throat. My doctor said I need a nebulizer but the pharmacist said it is against policy to sell them outside of the hospital. Not for out patient use. You might try coffee unless your doctor is against coffee.
