Loosing hope that my chronic pain will end.

Posted by alijoezack @alijoezack, Sep 10 9:50pm

I’m finding myself completely overwhelmed and hopeless. I’m tired of endless dr appointments and no relief. I hurt my back 15 years ago and was told it was just bruised. Fast forward now my pain is severe. It has always been for the most part in the center but has at some points been lower. Now it’s in my neck and all through my rt shoulder and down my arm. I’m not sleeping well. Tired of being in pain with no answers. I have had multiple MRI and X-rays. I changed my back dr because he was concentrating on my lower back pain and that’s not where my worse pain is. Now my dr thinks it’s my neck and X-rays showed nothing. Waiting till my appointment next week for arm then will most likely be sent for MRI. All while waiting for biopsy in two weeks to see if have breast cancer. Just tired of the pain and feeling like it won’t end.

Was disability retired at 50, 57 now and it was a steady decline until only option left was an ultrasound guided pain shot that they do in hospital.
Then found this book, and things slowly started changing and didnt know why.
You could bring me to my knees just poking one pressure point. Was never NOT like that.
Driving more than a few miles was hell.
Just came back from a 5 hour stretch of errands, drive however long, and park as far away as possible for exercise.
Plus am a help to people and not a burden.
You cannot go wrong with the book.
Plus I had God on my side so that too 🙂

@kayraymat Yes, you've got be sure to take stool softeners when you take opioids. For me, I take 3 capsules/gelcaps when taking Tramadol and/or Norco and/or Tylenol #3. So very few doctors will prescribe any type pf opioid following any type of fracture or orthopedic operation. I had a triple fracture of my pelvis and the surgeon would only prescribe 2 weeks worth. Gosh, did I suffer after that.

Norco does not seem to be causing any type of constipation so I only
take the Metamusil gummies to be sure. Pain has practically made me a hermit
as I never know how I will feel during the day. Pain is such a pain!! 🙂
Sorry to hear about your suffering.

@kayraymat But wouldn't taking Tylenol on a limited dosage but regular basis be a safe way to manage your pain? Since you indicated primarily that the source of your pain is your back, then you might consider radio frequency ablation. You shouldn't live your life in such total pain when there are nerve treatments that can help a lot.

Has any doctor suggested physical therapy? If it's in the muscle, the Xray won't pick it up. I feel for you. I hope you find relief. And it's so hard waiting for results re: cancer diagnosis.

Giving up hope. I can so much relate. I had a horrific fibromyalgia flare about 6 weeks ago. Started with migraine then dental procedure caused excruciating pain, head, face, jaw, down neck, shoulder, hips, sides of thighs and of course my good old friend, lower back pain. I was so desperate. I was already taking many medications: migraine shots, Maxalt, LDN, Tylenol, 800 mg ibuprofen, muscle relaxants, all day all of these at once. Crying from the pain. Then neurologist prescribed Prednisone. It’s for 6 days, tapering down each day. I was so skeptical but out of desperation took it. Amazing ! Such relief! I have some aches and pains but they’re nothing compared to what I was experiencing. I know it may be a temporary fix but I am so grateful to get this break. I so much needed it as the pain was chronic each and every day at 10 level. Also are you seeing a chronic pain doctor or chronic pain clinic? Just putting that out there. Peace and love.

So sorry. Back pain is the worst. There are several things that you may want to try. One is Acupuncture. It's very good for many types of pain. The other thing I recommend is Louise Hay. She has free YouTube videos. There's definitely an emotional and psychological component to pain. It may sound strange but it's true. I highly suggest going through her meditations which will help you relax which will decrease pain but also what she talks about. We need to heal emotionally to heal physically

@cpsp50 sorry this took so long, it was basically a pain shot deep inside the pelvic area, they use UT in hospital setting to guide the needle to exact spot, this was next step because the steroid shots as we are all aware are destructive and usually wear out aka need endless shots to even walk or drive or even go out to mail box.
This is my 12 foot ladder going up to the roof. Even climbed ON the roof yesterday.
Last pain shot was I think January now don't even *have* that pain doc any more, not needed.
I'm 57 no spring chicken, but legs feel closer to 40's than 60's.
Started with the book, ended with God. What can I say?

Tylenol does not work for me. Aleve does sometimes a nurse told me it could cause internal bleeding so now I use Norco which seems to help sometimes.
I will look into "radio frequency ablation. Thanks. K
