Help, scalp is driving me crazy itchy n plaque.
Doc gave me a cream but I cant treat my own scalp arthritis in the shoulders, anyone got any ideas about a lotion for the whole scalp or something?

I shampoo every day and the prescription shampoo works no better than a healthy over the counter one.
Scratching or touching it even for a second really sets it off .
So I get relief from ice packs .
I often sleep on several layers of those big flat ICE gel packs, while giving my freezing feet comfort with an electric HEATING pad lol. Symptoms of these diseases abound .

2 ReactionsI used to use a prescription shampoo that dried my hair terribly but stopped the itching and cleared my scalp. Then I found that Ginger Shampoo does just as much to calm my scalp, keep it clear, and very much diminish the itching. I've been using it for months without the need to apply the prescription shampoo.
They stopped making the ginger shampoo I used but there are others available and I just ordered one to try it out. The main ingredient is ginger and there is no added fragrance or anything else that aggravates the scalp skin. I will let you know if it works. I just ordered it and it will arrive this week.

2 Reactions@vjdembro I write here today about the ginger shampoo I use that works. I want to let you know, since cold works, there is a cap you keep in the freezer and pull on over the top of your head. I wonder if that wouldn't be more convenient and just as helpful. ? Easily available from main online stores. Good wishes!!
I still get some itching but my scalp is clear and the itching doesn't reach the heights of craziness it did before.

1 ReactionI have a new ginger shampoo to try. I picked a shampoo that has the main ingredient as ginger. Many of the "ginger shampoos" have just a touch of ginger. I'm trying Edenika shampoo but I don't know yet if it works. Will report here my experience in the next couple of days.

1 ReactionWhen I flare, I use Nizoral otc shampoo - rx is too strong for me. And, I use Scalpicin throughout the day. It’s the consistency of water so careful of drips, I like to lean back so it doesn’t drip in my eyes. It usually takes 2-3 days to be bearable again.

2 ReactionsHi again. There Is a liquid clobetasol for the scalp. That would seem much better to apply than a cream. Because the prescription shampoo and, after I discovered that it helps as much, the ginger shampoo have eliminated the plaque. So I only used the clobetasol liquid once. It seems worth a try for applying directly to the scalp.
I use a free and clear shampoo. and rinse my head with vinegar.
It keeps the itching down.
all the chemicals they use out there in the polluted world I try to stay away from, it all causes me some kind of health trouble.
God Bless

1 ReactionYou might try rosemary oil or a scalp balancing scrub. I like Kerastace (https://www.kerastase-usa.com/search). It is soothing when my scalp itches and is healthy for my thin hair.
