@marysara1 Hi. Thanks so much for telling me and us about the rosemary and lavender oil application. I just ordered the oils and they should be here in the next couple of days. I bought jojoba oil as a mixing base. How much of the oils do you use for one application, please?

Hey!

Sorry to hear you're struggling.

I've got psoriasis, which I get pretty nasty dandruff, itchiness and plaques with, and I use a coal tar shampoo called Polytar. Got to stick with it, but it's blended in nicely for me.

It's generally a part of a wider routine, but that's pretty much the only product in my mix, other than emergency prescription steroids.

Hi. I used to use a prescription shampoo that got rid of the plaque. For the past couple of years, though, I've used only an over the counter ginger shampoo. I'm at the end of a bottle and find the company I was buying from no longer makes it. It completely removed and prevented plaque from forming without drying out my hair. I plan to try another ginger shampoo that has ginger as the main ingredient. If it also keeps away the plaque I'll write here about it. It arrived and I plan to use it today.
I do still have itching on and off on my scalp and it has just been recommended to me at another blog here to use a combination of lavender and rosemary oils to leave on overnight (if you have thin hair; otherwise just use after shampooing) to get rid of the itching. It works for the person who recommends it. Someone else says she gets itching relief from an after shampoo dousing with vinegar. I do plan to see if the two oils combined work for me.
Trouble is, I have itching all over my body on and off all the time. I'm seeing my primary care physician this week to find out if I have an underlying disease or condition causing the overall itching. I will still try the combination of the lavender and rosemary oils on my hair overnight and will write here if it gets rid of the scalp itching!

@painsurvivor Yes! That's me, as well .. .. all over the body. When I awke, the scalp is usually the first thing I find myself scratching. Minutes later I have itchy ears, and it's painful as well. Body itches are normal too, and I tend to focus on a single area. Like you, I've not found a doctor who'll address this. I'm open to suggestions. My primary said after a shower, coat myself with a thin layer of vasoline, but that just makes more complications.
