@2thfairy I have found Ozonated Coconut Oil to be a God Send!!! My flare ups have practically disappeared. Will never go back to Clobetesol. Glad to hear other people have had good results too.

Hi... I have been taking Acidophilus tablets quite by accident and have found my itching and symptoms have reduced by 80%. After reading about Acidophilus and learning it's a bacteria that lives in mouth gut and vagina ! It's working for me ... worth a try !

@jade437 Thank you so much for relating this experience. I have lichen sclerosis under pretty good control with use of clobetesol. I know that using that all the time causes thinning of the skin. I''m so happy to find out about the ozonated coconut oil and now this acidophilus reducing itching. I'm eager to see if it stems itching in other locations, because I routinely break out in intense itching all over my body and have to use a special shampoo because of an unidentified cause of itching of my scalp. Thank you, thank you!! I will post how they work for me.

@jade437 where do you get the acidophilus tablets? Do you know if acidophilus is available in capsule or gelcap form?

@painsurvivor I just checked the two items, the ozonated coconut oil and the acidophilus. They are both so expensive--a lot to spend monthly. Since my condition is under good control, I'm sticking with the clobetasol, which works and is much less expensive.
I do want to mention that I do not use soap to wash that area. I just clean thoroughly with water in the shower. The condition improved greatly when I stopped using soap.
Best wishes to all and success getting the condition under control.

@painsurvivor
I agree 100% about not using soap in cleaning that particular area. I just spray area with water from the extended shower head I have. Much improved without the soap.

I need to know more about lichen sclerosis and the best ointments to use. Also, if it's related to any other skin conditions you know of.

I have used Emuaid for the past several years. Amazing product. Cuts the itching. Heals my flare ups and works for a number of skin issues. A little costly but I just skip a couple dinners out and works in my budget. Fixed invoke.
Have a nice day!!

I too suffer from LS. But I am interested in mitochondrial diseases. Is that an autoimmune disorder or a mutated gene?

It’s thought to be autoimmune, but it’s still unknown.

@sap52203 Thanks for this information!
Which Emuaid product do you use that works so well?

Also mentioned earlier in this post is Lisepten. It's what I use and I like it much better than other things I've tried.
