Heart pounding for 30 minutes
Hello I'm 22 male and recently I've been getting really bad increased heart rate with pounding, like 3 times a week lasting around 30 minutes. It sometimes comes with the back of my arm hurting too but it calms down after laying down for a bit. Is this just really bad anxiety or should I seek a cardiologist?

Good question. I would see a physician, starting with my primary care physician.

2 ReactionsThat could be alot of different issues. In my case it was a genetic issue finally was resolved with an ablation procedure, have your doctor refer you with a cardiologist than they can run some tests on you to determine the cause.

3 ReactionsBest course of action is to get in to see a medical professional soon. Heart conditions have no age limitation. Your situation may not be serious.. but ere on the side of caution. All the best.
Anxiety is a worried condition. It usually accompanies a health or other stressful condition, but AFTER it. In some cases, with prolonged anxiety over something stressful, the anxiety comes later and then lasts and can affect sleep, appetite, libido, etc. So, have you been anxious and then developed the pounding, or did the latter come first?
Secondly, the chances are good that you had what is either SVT or AF. Supraventricular tachycardia or atrial fibrillation. It might be ventricular tachycardia, but that would be more unusual. But my point is that it's always going to be a guess, and not a certainty, without a formal diagnosis, and that comes from a cardiologist, or an internist at an ER if that's where you go first for relief.
