MGUS and restless leg syndrome
Was diagnosed with MGUS 2 yrs ago after surgery on my back, I am being followed by oncologist. I suffer from fatigue and bruising. For the last few months I am having severe leg cramps. Dr put me on Gabapentin which helped in the beginning but the only thing that helps now is a heating pad. I saw comments in this group before re: restless leg
syndrome. I’m looking for any recommendations on what works for you. This is happening nightly and cramping is more severe.

Thank you for that. Haven’t tried Gabapentin. Definitely worth mentioning to Dr.

2 Reactions@arti4, it's so tough being up and moving around like that all night. I've been there myself so many times, it's exhausting. Bananas and water don't usually cut it for real RLS, unfortunately.
One thing that helped me was really digging into my iron and ferritin levels with my doctor. For RLS, specialists often like to see ferritin numbers a bit higher than what's considered just 'normal.' It's worth asking your doctor about getting those tested and discussing the actual numbers. Also, sometimes just getting up for a short, gentle walk or a warm bath can offer some temporary relief. I'm fairly new here, but I've dealt with RLS for years and it's good to know we're not alone.

Thanks! I’ll check into the iron and ferritin levels. It’s so annoying…Best to you.
@arti4, it's so true, bananas and water just don't cut it when RLS is hitting that hard. Being up 6-7 times is just brutal. Since you're watching this site for ideas, I was wondering if you'd had a chance to ask your doctor about those iron and ferritin levels we talked about? That can sometimes be a really key piece.
