Did anyone choose not to do chemo after lung segmentectomy?

Yes. Aortic regurgitation. My aortic valve leaks. Also I had afib. Chemo didn't affect it but keytruda did. I had a cardiac ablation last year and have been fine for the past 14 months. Do you have a cardio oncologist? I strongly suggest one. He or she will work with your medical oncologist during y9ur treatment.

@cynthia19591965 this is from my pathology report. I'm guessing based on the treatment they proposed for you, that you might not have a match for a targeted therapy, but it would be good to be clear on that.

@cynthia19591965, how are you doing? Were you able to discuss pros and cons of further treatment (chemo or immuntherapy or other) with your oncologist? What did you decide?

Update on my story, I decided to get a second opinion for my care! I was against Chemo at first, but with this second opinion, they also did a brain MRI and found a lesion! There thinking it has metastasized. So now I will be doing a Pet scan to see if anything else is happening. After all this they will give me a treatment plan ..

Thanks so much for this update. Like others, I've been hoping to hear from you. Sounds like your second opinion was able to help you make a more solid decision for yourself. I have always believed the more knowledge we have, the better decisions we can make for "ourselves".
Yikes...the brain lesion diagnosis must be a really "tough one" to add on to everything else in your life. Know you have many folks here who want to support in any way we can. I also understand "the waiting" inbetween all of these new test results. That's always been the hardest part for me. I often try to remind myself about deep breathing when I catch myself slipping into a dark space.
Altho I am not a Christian, I am a very spiritual person. Sending much love and the energy towards your way. I've just finished radiation for 3 brain lesions that popped up from my lung cancer. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Good luck with that new treatment plan. Don't forget to ask lots of questions about it.

My Pet scan come back clear!
They are going to do one radiation treatment to the lesion on my Brain..
I am still very much on the fence about Chemotherapy, Especially a fib and arrhythmias with my heart since about two weeks after my lung surgery! I’m very concerned at how chemo will affect my heart! Oncologist doesn’t seem to be keen on putting too much thought to it so I’m gonna talk to my heart doctor and see what he thinks as well.

@cynthia19591965 that's good news about your PET scan! I hope your team could suggest a chemo plan that takes care of any rogue cancer cells but also addresses your concerns about your heart. sometimes oncologists can be very focused on saving you today, without considering the longer term negative effects. I like your plan to also talk with your cardiologist and get another opinion. maybe one chemo drug would have fewer cardiac impacts than another. or maybe they can do a shorter duration of treatment. surely there are some options.

@cynthia19591965 , Clear PET scan results are fantastic! I agree with discussing options with your cardiologist. They may even be able to consult with your oncologist. Sometimes doctor to doctor discussions are the most productive.
