@jessed Yes, nebulizing, air way clearance, huff coughing, self percussion and was doing postural drainage but stopped that for now. I am testing to see if there is any difference when I eliminate postural drainage.
I also wear an N95 mask that I believe for me has helped in two ways. It seems to help me bring up mucus if I have had it on for a period of time while out in public. I believe it is due to the moisture caused when wearing it. I also wear it doing things around my yard and house to avoid breathing things in, like when I vacuum.
Is your Y pool indoors?? I won't take the chance with indoor pools due to the moisture, especially and more so if there isn't good and complete ventilation.
Glad you are reading information on this site.

@ingrid1947 Yes they can be - there are numerous articles about it.
BUT - do you need to? As far as I know, even as cautious as the staff at NJH (National Jewish Health) they have never recommended this measure in any of their seminars.
It might be a good question to ask at the upcoming patient conference on September 19th (in person & online). You can register here: https://www.nationaljewish.org/2026-ntm-bronchiectasis-patient-and-family-course-hybrid-event

Barbara thank you for taking the time to describe all the good stuff you are doing for yourself! It’s like you are doing a self study on postural drainage:).
Last week, I started Neb w 7% saline (was on 3%). For the last 10 years, I only used Aerobika:( and had no flares for 10 years. After 10 days of hemoptysis, I got sacred. I googled support groups and found you all. Thank god! Now, I have been vigilant about airway clearance, Qi gong breathing, huff coughing, self percussion, and my hubby Ray does cupping. Reading posts and watching Marcy Weiner’s webinar got me going. I’ll think about your mask practice- seems to work well for you!
But I decided, at 82, despite the risks, I will still walk and swim laps in the indoor pool at the Y. Thanks Barbara!
Best, jessed
@sueinmn thanks! I'm going to register for that. Not too worried about the toothbrush. Good reminders to change mine and remember to soak it in HP.

I think this video about Huff coughing is helpful.

My hubby cut a piece of PVC for me to do Huff cough but then I found and use my old Medline mini wright peak flow Meter from the allergy clinic
