Finding Joy

Where do you find joy while caregiving for your LO who suffers from dementia? How do you manage the resentment and frustration? I’m having a hard time seeing an exit.

@gratia Today I went to this title “Finding Joy” because I want a positive uplift in my life. Perfect title of hope and joy!
Thanks to all who added comments because it is so easy to get down in our caregiving to loved ones.
What a wonderful reminder to not forget that I am not alone and to appreciate nature. Also any little time my husband will give me a smile or even laughs at a silly movie with me. Those days are limited now with his Alzheimer’s and recent prostate cancer treatments.
I am trying to get ready for my Chicago trip on Wednesday and trying not to become overwhelmed with worry. My mantra is “You’ve got this” 😉thanks to all of you! I’ve been told if God takes you to it, He will get you through it!🌹❤️

@marilynt Hi Marilyn, I love your comment. Today at my mother’s home, it’s sunny and warm with just a touch of fall in the air. I stepped outside to take a picture of some pink flowers growing in an overgrown little garden. I hope they add happiness, hope and peace to your day 💕🤗 safe travels and wishing you and your husband many more moments of joy.

We’ve all got this except when we don’t. One question at a time…one task at a time…one day at a time. It’s very hard and will get harder. I’m glad the Jewish high holidays are approaching. I will be doing a lot of praying for all of us.

@grandmajoan Yes please pray for all of us. And a special prayer that I can get my house sold quickly - and clear out all the stuff - so I can just get both my husband, and I situated and calmly grounded.
Best, Karla

@gratia Thank you for your support. Nothing is set in stone...we are all on a slippery slope here. Having the support and positive feedback from you and other "friends", that we will never have the pleasure of meeting, is so important to keep us keeping on, when it's needed the most.
Bless you,
Judy

@becsbuddy Hi Becky, this makes my heart smile. Sometimes small gestures can have a ripple effect. I find this community so helpful and supportive.

So many times my questions & worries have resulted in solid advice from others in the “trenches”.

I’m happy that the photos are uplifting!🤗❤️it means a lot to me to be helpful to others.
