How to deal with aging anxiety?

Posted by grahmilou @grahmilou, Dec 30, 2025

The last few years have been hard with multiple surgeries, now recovered, but ongoing pain. The loss of friends recently as they passed and the worrying about how the road feels like it’s getting so much shorter. constantly worrying about the process of dying. trying to stay grateful for today but sometimes the anxiety feels overwhelming especially as I see our country chance for worse and worry about the world for my grandchildren.

Medicare is great for therapy! Mine with BCBS secondary pays 100% of my therapy. I struggle with a lot of anxiety and have a daily routine meditation and positive reading in the morning coffee and listen to birds. I still work at 70 years old and so I work about three hours a day. And I love naps and relaxing my mantra is walk slow talk slow and breathe. I stay away from politics in the news and focus on the beauty around me. That helps a lot plus I do have a great therapist and a good Psychiatrist.

@glinda47 Medicare pays toward therapy.

I wish! So many are not taking it and in fact, have opt'd out which means one can't even send in their own bill for possible reimbursement.
