recurring abdominal adhesions
Does anyone else out there have problems with abdominal or pelvic adhesions? I have had several surgeries and have constant pain. Its really affected my life in a negative way. I have always been a very optimistic person, but I am feeling very overwelmed after my last surgery.

@nannybb Funny, as I read your first response I thought the same thing! We could be twins.!I was pregnant when I lost the baby and they did two other surgeries at that time. That was what started the adhesions and eventually; within two years; I couldn't have a baby. That's been another thing to deal with. Most of the time , I feel it was for the best, but I have my moments.
I'm so glad to have someone th share with. I wish you better health and thank you for getting in touch.
When I try to explain adhesions to most people, they just look confused.

2 ReactionsI've had 9 pelvic surgeries, 4 belly button surgeries for Adhesions 30 years ago, 2 mesh implants, hysterectomy and orphanectomy. Back when I first started this journey through Adhesions I had just given birth to my last child C-section. It was 2weeks after my 1st surgery through my C-section area was preformed.
My entire pelvic- abdominal area was covered by Adhesions.
Back then there was very little information on them, unless you visited a Dr for fertility or endometriosis, fibroid
.. The CO2 laser pelvic surgery was just being introduced for surgery .. unfortunately I was not a candidate due to medical assistance ( so i underwent the scalpel, the CO2 laser uses a high-precision carbon dioxide laser to vaporize or cut pelvic tissue ) It's now been 33 years since I went through this, and began menopause (due to no estrogen) I'm 59 now and have once again found out I have Abdominal Adhesions involving my intestines/bowel.
I remember being told that a hysterectomy would stop Adhesions due to lack of Estrogen.. this was entirely untrue.
Has anyone else ever been through this?
