Another R-ALA question

i've been taking R-ala for a couple years now and it definatly does help. What I'm asking is, how much you take ( I use 300mg twice a day... 10 AM and 6 pm) I've read that anything over 600 a day doesn't make much differance.
Also, it's hard to know what brand actually gives you what it says. I use this one from Amazon, but again who knows if it really is a good one. I get bombarded with adds for other types.
What brands do you use ?

ronluddington, I take what you have pictured: R-ALA, HMS brand. I take 1200 mg daily (300x4). As a result of taking R-ALA, I have been able to decrease gabapentin from 2400mg daily to 900mg daily.

I have diabetic neuropathy as well as neuropathy as a result of back surgery 30 years ago. My neuropathy is pins and needles feeling mostly, with occasional flashes of mild pain.

From what I gather from reading about R-ALA, it seems effectiveness is better documented in diabetic neuropathy.

I was on 75mg 3 X per day, currently trying 50mg 3 x per day. So far seems to be ok. Will try 25mg next and maybe get off of it completely.

@bajjerfan the research that I have seen says that at the 150 mg per day level the analgesic effect is not more than the placebo. The effect analgesic only becomes evident at the 300 mg per day level.

@annargso I take 600 mg alpha lipoic acid (Brand is nutricost) from Amazon and 250 mg Magnesium gummies per day. ( Qunol from Costco). Also I use Brida Nerve Relief Lotion. Used to be Mira but fakes started putting out some in the Mira name so they changed the name. Order directly from Brida. It will take a couple of weeks to get. The addition of Magnesium really made a difference on top of the other. Good luck.

Hi,
I was taking another ALA but doing a research, I chose to buy in Amazon precisely this one because it is R which is the real ALA. In addition, it contains several needed ingredients, including black pepper, which helps the body absorption of ALA.

@amota which one are you getting ? I've seen another one poppipopping up on Facebook that is R with a bunch of other stuff.
