Feeling Lost, Starting Adderall (Amphetamine Salts 20mg tab) today

Posted by amy51 @amy51, 1 day ago

Background for my question - I was tested and informed that I had a learning disability roughly 38yrs ago (about 13yo), then later Dx w/ ADHD in my early 20's while having my son evaluated. Fast forward to Jan 2025 my obgyn ordered blood work to see where my hormones were at in menopause. Yup, 100% into it 😱. Fast forward to today - August 27, 2026.
My struggles:
Insomnia
Brain Fog (adhd or menopause or being railroad by both together ??)
Feeling down/sad (am not clinically depressed or suicidal)
Intense Emotions - crying for NO reason, and start crying over things I normally would not cry about)
VERY strong conviction of justice feelings
Unable to focus - my mind just goes *black* / *glitches*
Can not organize my thoughts to write something or reiterate a story in the order it happened. Can not recall events or something someone has said.
No sex drive
Stiffness and Joint Pain . . . Anxiety
I was finally able to go on HRT by obgyn, Vyvanse, then Concerta and now Amphetamine Salts 20mg (Adderall) by my APRN. I also see a therapist to help me with my struggles of ADHD and Menopause.
Question: I looked up the ingredients in the Amph Salts to see what I was taking exactly and would like to know if any of you can identify with what I have gone through since I was about 13yo and has the generic brand of Adderall - Amph Salts - has helped you. What are the pro's and con's you have found with it.

I think the Adderall may help. It helps me keep up with this crazy work world as I get older.

As far as libido is concerned adding testosterone to my hrt was incredible.
A good book to help with menopause is The Pause Life by Dr. Claire Havers
