Has anyone found any relief for Fibro by changing their diet?

Has anyone found any relief by changing their diet? It's so confusing because one site will say "eat yogurt because it's good for the bacteria in your gut." Then another will say "don't eat yogurt because most Fibro patients have IBS-D." Eat Organic, don't eat organic because they are still sprayed with pesticides, eat gluten free, don't eat gluten free. My head is spinning

kjs831, Hey there! I try and eat high protein, some complex carbs and a few simple carbs. We need carbs.

Sugar is not our friend as it causes inflammation. Also, try not to do a lot of caffeine....it aggravates fibro.

Keep moving as much as possible.

Praying for you & I understand. Blessings.....(31 year Fibro sufferer)

Talk with your Doctor. Do a food diary as to what you are eating and see if there is any change in how you are feeling. Everyone is different. What works for one person may not work for the next person.
I do feel eating protein, vegetables and fruit is good for everyone. Stay away from highly processed foods.
I do believe in organic foods. They are clean as far as I know. No chemicals, have not been mechanically altered with other plants.
Wishing you the best

kimmeefibrofighter, Hey there! I have had Fibro for 31 years. We need to eat a lot of protein..... that is your meats and beans. I have a protein shake in the morning
with some added fruit like berries. Stay away from a lot of sugar, caffeine & fast foods as this worsens Fibromyalgia.

I hope this helps. Praying for you. Blessings.....

I have had this “disorder” for 30 years. It started with an Epstein Barr activation. In the beginning, I couldn’t get out of bed or walk across the house. After a friend referred me to a PhD nutritionist he put me on a restricted diet. No gluten, no dairy, no sugar and as much organic I could get my hands on. After a year I was able to go back to work slowly working up to full time. After five years I had to quit because the fatigue just builds up and i learned not to push myself. I don’t have the aches and that i used to except for a monthly migraine. One of the most important components for me was taking digestive enzymes. Doctors rarely test for Lipase levels and mine were really low so I couldn’t digest fats. It took a while for me to find a doctor that was integrative and discovered I also needed thyroid replacement even though my levels were “normal”. My anti bodies were very high. I was able to function pretty well within my limits until the COVID vaccines. Now I can’t even travel to see my kids. There is a lot going on that we don’t even know about and no one is really working on it that I can find except in Israel for hyperbaric chamber treatments. Diet is crucial I think.

Earlier this year I had c diff, a horrible intestinal infection that took me about four months to recover from. During those four months I had no more than a few bites of saltines, so almost no wheat. I believe my inflammation was much better. I've been in a difficult fibro flare for a month now, partly due to trying to take less Lyrica and realizing I can't. Now that my stomach is mostly healed from c diff, I've eaten too much of everything and have been achy and inflamed. It's hard to do a no wheat, no sugar diet when the cravings are there. It's good to eat fruit but I crave cookies. My husband doesn't have fibro so we keep all varieties of food in the house. I agree with the other commenter that protein is very important.

Eating fresh food and avoiding processed foods works best for me. I work in grocery and we tend to shop the perimeter where fresh foods are because we know how bad processed food is. Also avoid plant based dairy. It’s not healthy because it’s mostly oils. Staying hydrated is so important. Buoy is a flavorless electrolyte drop that can be added to any drink. It was developed for people with chronic illness and you get a discount on a subscription if you have one. I know it’s confusing with all the info out there. Good luck!
