OMG Fred! I am so sorry to hear that. That is horrifying! How can they tell you half of your pancreas is decayed and not offer anything further? All I can suggest is to be a strong advocate for yourself. The more research I do, the more I learn, and the more questions I ask. I find I am way too trusting of medical care providers. Have you tried finding a pancreatic specialist? I don’t even know if such a thing exists, but I am looking. When I ask, I am referred to a gastroenterologist. I have not found anything that helps with diarrhea. Before all this started, I would take one dose of an ant diarrhea medication, and be constipated for days. The good old days! I am continuing to look for a specialist. I suggest you do the same. If I find one, I will most happily share the information. 🙏🏻

I get the same results that you get when trying to find a pancreas specialist. Like you, the only reference I get is to see a gastroenterologist. The gastroenterologist I go to has a research department. I chose that practice because I thought they might be more aware of how to deal with EPI. However, they are no better than other gastroenterologists in my area.
I like the Mayo Clinic forum for information on EPI. 🙏

85mg….???? That is not how the med dosages for EPI COME. It’s based on the lipase dosage. I take 5 x 40,000 with each meal
