It's just finished the 3rd phase of trials so is waiting full FDA approval. Duke has a special authorization to take on patients who have run out of chemo options & have a RAS mutation. I have a K-RAS mutation so waiting for a consultation with Duke to try & get into this program.

Hello Marsha,
I am truly wishing you success with your consultation. May I ask who Duke is? Is he an Oncologist? Thank you, Brenda

@nanoya80 just found out the chemo is not working, so I am off all treatment. Waiting for a consult to see if Duke will take me on for the new oral drug. Not in any pain, so I am doing the same and enjoying each day!

@gmapri I don’t know what Duke is however I am sending you all the love in the world. Ovarian/peritoneal cancer is tough isn’t it? I have no mutations etc so targeted options are out for me. I’ve had a power port inserted as my veins are almost nonexistent so I’m hoping this will help. Also good for those iodine scans.
Please treat yourself gently and know you are not alone.

@gmapri You’re attitude is inspirational. I’m hoping that Duke will take you on. Is this a clinical trial you are waiting to hear about?

@lilacswaterbelize Duke does not take my Medicare Advantage Plan & would not provide information if done as a self-pay so we are not going that route.

I was Dx with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, mets to liver, in my case. I do have an appointment with Levine Cancer institute on Tuesday.

@gmapri Oh, no. I am sorry to hear that Duke University Medical Center does not take your Medicare Advantage Plan. Your appointment at the Levine Cancer Institute is two days away. I'm relieved to know you got in there and hope you will receive kind, empathic, and excellent care there.

Wlll you come back and let me know what you learn about treatment options at Levine?

I was recently diagnosed with fallopian tube/ovarian and peritoneal cancer. Stage 3c. I have completed 1 round of chemo (3 weeks). I’m starting to have acid build up in my stomach. Anyone else had that? And did it make you really tired? What did you do to combat the tiredness?

@naturegirl5 I will make a note to do so. Appointment is late afternoon so likely will be Thursday before I get back.
