Anyone had GentleCure (IM-SRT) for Basal Cell Carcinoma?

@pianist3 This sounds like a type of radiation I had some years back for a basal or squamous cell carcinoma I had on my face. Honestly, I've had so many over the years, I've lost track of the specifics, but I do recall going for a type of low level radiation treatment over the course of a few weeks. Is that what you'll be having? I've pretty much run the gamut for every type of skin cancer and interventions: creams, electrodesiccation and curettage (ED&C), MOHs, wide local excision. Basal cells can be handled relatively easily and painlessly, especially with targeted treatment as you describe.

You're definitely wise to be using sunscreen. Here are a few more helpful pointers: https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hometown-health/speaking-of-health/simple-steps-to-prevent-skin-cancer

I'm anxious to hear how you do after the procedure -- can you adding a follow up?

Most people do not notice my scars from MOHS. They are very good at making them as minimal as possible. I, however, know they are there and after so many wanted to try something different. Hope both our areas are completely cured and all the redness fades away. Please keep me posted on your final outcome.

@basal Got my all clear from Gentle Cure treatment on both a basal cell nodular on sidewall of nose and squamous cell insiti on nose tip a week ago. No redness left and can not tell where the treatments were done on my nose. Flesh colored again now 7 weeks post Gentle Cure.

@2buddy Such good news! I'm only 1 week after my last treatment but looking forward to the healing process. Thanks for your encouragement.

I've had skin cancers removed for forty years. I'm a red head with fair skin and can say any surgeries on me leave scars. That's why I jumped at the Gentlecure option when it became available in our town. It takes longer, 3x a week x5-6 weeks but there's no pain except for redness and itching starting half to three quarters through treatment. It leaves a red mark that goes away after a couple months. But on boney areas like your shin or nose it may stay red longer. I've had 6 done by Gentlecure in the last year, all fine...and you can do multiples at the same time. I'm nursing a squamous I had done 3 months ago on my chest by Mohs and I have a red nasty itchy painful scar that won't quit. Doctor suggested Mohs on this one because it had irregular edges. So there are scenarios when they suggest one over the other.
