Every evening cold like symptoms for years.

Mystery - As far back as 2018 I've had chills in late afternoon and feel like I have a cold. I wrap up in a blanket and take a couple of tylenol. The next day symptoms are gone till late afternoon. I told my husband it feels like my body is harboring an infection. In 2019 I was dx'd with lung infections and bronchiectasis. I felt this was the cause of my symptoms. I've been under constant treatment for these problems but my other symptoms continued as before. Recently had a UTI that turned into septic shock. Had an ICU stay and IV antibiotics. Still my late afternoon symptoms return. Anyone have a clue? I did not know which support group to put this question in so if anyone has a suggestion, please let me know.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this. Have you had your thyroid levels checked with an Endocrinologist? Low thyroid function could be a cause. I have the same issue with antibiotics and your mention of the septic UTI caught my attention. I've gone 2 weeks waiting for my medical team to find an antibiotic that I could take. Finally, after my own research, I suggested fosfomycin which can be used for E. Coli bacteria. It is a single dose oral antibiotic due at bedtime, that arrives in a packet of granules that you dissolve in cool water and drink immediately. It tasted like orange. It wasn't covered by my insurance but it was worth it. I didn't have any severe reaction, fortunately, just a headache and mild nausea. Next week, I'll retake the UA with culture to see if it was effective. My question for you is...what septic symptoms did you develop that sent you to the hospital?
Wishing you better health.
