lung cancer rt upper lobe

I am a 77yr old female. I had a ct scan of the lungs and it showed a 5cm mass in upper rt lobe. I am set up for a pet scan and biopsy of the mass. If it is cancer is there hope for me?

Thank you for your best wishes, my last CT was last February so it makes me a little uneasy waiting for my results. Yes initially breathing was difficult as I had an infection a couple of months after my Lobectomy.
However 12 months on my body has adjusted I try to keep fit and eat well and I would say I only get slightly out of breath if I am walking up a steep hill.
