If you have ild from a parrot can you still live in the same house but keep the parrot away in one room?

@dahlia17 What a dilemma - a choice between health and a beloved pet can be tough.

I was pretty sure the answer would be that, for safety, the bird needs to go to a new home. Here is what I read on the Bird Fancier's website:(https://www.birdful.org/what-is-the-lung-disease-caused-by-birds-feathers/):
"For those already diagnosed with bird fancier’s lung, complete avoidance of bird exposure is essential. Ongoing low-level exposure can cause lung damage to progress. Good dust control and protective equipment can lower risks when working with birds."

With a diagnosis of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), you are past early early stages of irritation, and have permanent irreversible damage. Now it is critical to stabilize your condition and prevent further damage.

If you keep the parrot away from you in a closed room, how will your pet react? Who would do the day-to-day cares? Can you isolate the ventilation for that room to prevent the dust, mites, etc from moving through the air? Are others who may come and go to the bird room willing and able to take precautions every time to avoid contaminating the rest of the house?

As you can see, this is a complicated question that only you and your housemate(s) can answer.
