Bed time quite hard heart flutters

Posted by john593 @john593, 1 day ago

I am on my 2nd pacemaker May 6th 2026. No problems with the first. The 2nd 4wire one gives me what the heart tech calls flutters . I have no problems in the day but at night in bed I get what feels like a light tap upto a punch from inside my chest. The techs swapped the wires about and said the check in 6 months. With no difference I am more than a little concerned. Any thoughts?

I too have had trouble with my wires. I have both screwed in and static. The static ones have moved around from time to time and the pace clinic has to change my pacemaker settings to get the same connection.

I don't have the research information but my primary care doctor explained that when you lay on your sides to sleep the organs shift around and it can make the heart be more of a feeling. Thus you feel things more when laying of your sides and back you are going to feel the heart beats, and thus the irregular ones that are heart focus is going to make more noticeable.

I was told my right side was best to keep this issue from happening or should I say lesson it not prevent it.

Do you have just a pacemaker or a dual device that has an ICD also? Those feelings you are feeling is not something I can comment on as not a medical professional so best to address that specific information with your doctors.
