Anyone got high blood pressure? What do you do to lower it?
I have tried the last couple of years to get my blood pressure down. I don’t smoke or drink alcohol. I exercise each day and eat good food. I have to be on meds that help keep my blood pressure down but I’m still in the 140’s. I used to be in 150’s. I’m talking with my doctor on Monday for more suggestions on what I should do.

I am an ALZ person, diagnosed about one year ago. I take 3 BP meds - Lisinopril and Amlodipine in the morning and Terazosin before bed. My BP used to average around 142/75. For the past year it has slowly decreased and been averaging about 128/68 in the morning. I credit my town nurse for much of the improvement for giving me some great advice that I NEVER got before. The advice is to take the 2 morning ones together, in the same one hour period every day, because the body does better with it this way. Try to do the same with the bedtime one (not as easy for me as with the morning ones.)
A cautionary note is that it is not good to make it drop too quickly! Your heart won't like that, either. You can check that out with your doctor or Np.

2 ReactionsTalked to my Doctor. Off of propranolol and taking another gabapentin 3 times a day to relax my never stopping anxiety. Doubled my blood pressure med. I’ll check back with my doctor in 2 weeks.
In my mid-thirties I developed high BP and I weighed 130# so we figured out it was familial. My 2 brothers and both my parents had it too. Started on Lisinopril in 1984 been on same dose since then.
