Nabulizing time
Guys, how much time do you spend on nabulizing?
It takes me 2 hours a day.
30 min - Albuterol, 30 min -saline. And it’s twice a day.
What kind of machine to use to make it shorter?
My throat is hurting from so much.
Plus, I’m noticing the compressor gets really hot, and there are water bubbles in the tubing by the end of the sessions.
Something seems not right.
Please advise.

What type of equipment are you currently using?
There are some shortcuts you might try.
Instead of nebulizing albuterol, use a puffer inhaler.
There is a very fast mesh nebulizer available but it is $pendy! Sometimes it goes on sale around holidays. Less than 5 minutes for a vial of saline.

@lindenflower It sounds like either your nebulizer compressor needs the filter changed or it is failing. The WORST compressor I ever used took 18-20 minutes. And there should never be liquid or bubbles in the tubing .
If you can, see a respiratory therapist or nurse, take your machine along to demonstrate using it.

Regarding Pari e- Rapid, my respiratory tech told me that it was designed for a different medication and that I can’t use it for my purposes. I have a controller base from using Arikayce and thought maybe I could utilize it with e-Rapid.

The filter has been changed last month.
So it ‘s probably failing, even though it’s only one year old.

Excellent! You can use the Pari E rapid for saline solution.. You’ll need to purchase a new handset, which requires a prescription. Maybe your respiratory therapist was not aware that you can purchase a separate handset for the base. That’s the solution to your extended time problem!
My nebulizer is called “Drive” Power Nebultra. I’ve been using sine 2018 (i think). It was prescribed by my Pulm. And Rxd thru Medicare. I did not buy it and did not have a copay. If this helps. My Levalbuterol neb fluid takes about 10-12 mins (longest) and budesonide another 8-10 mins. Separated by waiting time of 20-30 mins. I also use an Aerobika flutter valve attached to nebulizer for Levalbuterol, but not with steroid (as instructed by Dr). There should be no water in your tubing, that does not need to be washed. If you washed it, you should through it away. Because the tubing will become moldy as you cannot get the moisture out. I hope this helps.

Mine is only a year old and apparently failing-saw water after 5 minutes of nabulizing today.

It’s rather pricey though.
I’ll see what I can do.
I use pari promenade max as my nebulizing machine. It’s really sturdy and solid- stands long nebulizing.
