Anyone have multiple chemical insensitivity (MCS)?

Immediate breathing problems triggered by almost any smell

I am a 41-year-old man 173 tall and weigh 114

I have had some allergies since adolescence but they have become much worse after covid almost any noticeable smell can trigger symptoms, even very mild ones. This includes perfumes, laundry or washing product scents, chlorine, cleaning products, dust, humidity, mold, smoke, and chemical fumes

Within seconds of smelling anything I experience irritation or blockage in my nose and I feel tightness in my chest, neck or throat, as if my breath catches near the end of my exhalation
The stronger the smell, the faster and more intense the reaction Afterward I may experience lingering bronchial irritation

I also have an unusual sensitivity to bright lights and loud noises, which can cause heaviness in my tongue and neck difficulty concentrating eye strain and general fatigue

My eye exam was normal
and eye drops did not help My lung examination and spirometry were also normal I tried several types of inhalers for about two months without improvement l and allergy medications did not help My chest hrct was mostly normal except for a small intussusception band. In the lower part of the right lung

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Which specialist evaluated them and what tests helped identify the problem

Have you been patch tested for allergies? Possibly you are allergic to chemicals and a diet avoiding them may help. There are harmful chemicals from the earth in food we eat. I have an allergy to Nickel and Balsam of Peru. Both cause an array of symptoms!! PATCH testing is important, not any other kind! You may be surprised what turns up and it may help.

Do a search on AI describing your symptoms and look at the research found from Europe and Australia, both far ahead of the US in allergy research. Ask any question and you will be astounded at what you find. Perhaps some of it may help. You can move on from there.
