I only know what happened to me. When TIA discovered from a “routine” MRI for my MS my neurologist called me, scheduled office visit for next morning, showed films to me, and immediately got me into outpatient PT. Second stroke was hospitalized, then months of in-home PT, OT, speech & memory therapy. Speed of care indicated “emergency”, as well as my insistence. You are your best advocate! Best wishes.

Thank you for this. My doctor sent a Neurologist a referal request. I'm told by the Neurologist's office my wait time for an appointment would be ten to twelve months. I have a telephone appoinment with my doctor today. We'll see where this goes.
