Cymbalta is its Oxycodone 5 mg
Does anybody have experience with just starting out with Cymbalta 15mg three times a week and having been on oxycodone 5 mg for 30 years now?

If you need smaller than 30 mg. dose your doctor can send a prescription to a compounding pharmacy. Since duloxitine comes in capsules you can’t cut them.

1 ReactionWOW, 30 years on oxy, that's a long time. I'm not a doctor, this is just my opinion, having taken hydro for 10 years. If you are young, you need to think about stopping oxy, if you are old (you define age) I would not put myself through withdrawal. Please check with you Doctor or the NP, sometimes NP has time to spend with you and are open to more information. Just make sure you schedule a level two, you will have 15-30 minutes. Write your question down (there are no stupid questions). Stick with it, you will find a med that works for you. Check with your insurance, most will cover online therapy. It will help just to be able to talk.

1 ReactionThanks, Pebbles for your words. They’re very helpful. I’m 64 years old, the oxy has been all Dr recommended because I’ve had two heart transplants and I can’t take anti-inflammatories so we were narrowed down to a couple of pain meds. I’ve been cut open in the chest twice, I have PSPS which is Post sternotomy pain syndrome. I’m doing quite well. I’m just dealing with some anxiety so I want to try Cymbalta, but I sure don’t want to be sleeping all day and I am finding the oxy less effective which is expected with long term oxy. I’ve been told many times to get off it but if they could find a different pain med for me, I’d be happy and believe me, I don’t want to be on pain meds, but I do appreciate your words. Thanks again.
I’m from Canada.
we have no insurance because my husband and I are both contractors or I was a contractor I was an exploration Geologist for 45 years.

1 Reaction@jenatsky This is great information Jen. Thank you kindly for sharing. We are trying a soft loading method to see how I take the side effects. It may be that I need the smaller amounts. Again, thanks for posting.
