How do you deal with constipation?
I'm not regular and easily triggered when traveling or stress in general. How do you guys deal with constipation caused from external factors?

small handful of blueberries daily, balance of how much fiber works, and what does not. Truly a journey of trial and error and being consistent and relying on multiple factors to help.

1 Reaction@cherrybaby I just recently learned that taking a ginger supplement 500 MG‘s three times a day helps move food through your digestive system faster. I’ve only tried it twice and it really did work. I think if you start, you should start slowly unless you’re severely constipated, then go for it. But do your own research.
@bb03 Hi and thank you for the information!! Color me stupid but you take one of these pills 5 out of 7 nights and they have a battery in them??
For me being dehydrated can cause constipation, I don't drink plain water because it can dehydrate me more so my drinks need to have sodium and glucose in them. Eating to much fiber can cause constipation also. Fiber really doesn't make constipation better for most people. When I am constipated I drink 8 ounces apple/white grape juice before bed and in the morning I have a couple bowel movements. Eating easy to digest foods also helps. I have short bowel syndrome but I still get constipated. I am to eat a low fiber diet. My diet is high carbs/calories, moderate protein and low fiber. Drinking hot herbal tea at night also helps my constipation. Miralax makes my constipation worse. Dulcolax helps my constipation if it's real bad,3 Dulcolax and I drink some apple/white grape juice with it before bed.
Look up “ Vibrant Capsule”, for constipation.
I was young in the 1950's. I grew up on a 40 acre farm that was far out in the country. While my Father was at work, Mom and I were home alone everyday except for the cows, horse, chickens, dogs, cats and deer. My Mom didn't drive a car. So when I became constipated she gave me the following home remedy that her mother and grandmother had used for over 100 years. It worked great! It's natural and I hope it can help some of you.

Put a teaspoon or more if needed, of baking soda (the kind you cook with – Arm and Hammer) dissolved in a glass of water. Drink the whole glass. You may want to squeeze a little lemon juice in it to make it taste better. It tastes awful, but it works! Stay near the bathroom. It works fairly fast. By the way, this also helps get rid of gas and bloating. After it works, try and drink a lot of water to keep from being dehydrated.
Water intake, shift away from red and processed meats to non-breaded or fried white meats, and mirilax if I get to a Bristol 2 or miss a day. At that point I'll drink 120+ oz per day of clear, non-sweetened (no sugar or sugar substitutes), non-preservative (no "flavored waters" that contain anything other than water or carbonated water and natural flavors). I rarely do full doses anymore, usually 1/2 or 3/4 doses, to avoid the yo-yo effect. I don't use fiber treatments if I'm moving towards a 1 or 2 bristol or miss a day. It's too late at that point. They'll just create a bulk behind the block that's already there. Once regular-ish again then fiber treatments are introduced again to keep things moving.
