TY @catgic I appreciate the clarification, however, I didn't join the group for the fun of it and don't have time for unrelated junk. I thought that being an arm of Mayo Clinic that it would have integrity and that someone in this sphere would have a similar health experience to share so I could learn and get help with my decision on the procedure.

As Dr. Albert Schweitzer said,"The role of the physician is to awaken the doctor in each patient" The more we know and understand the better the outcome.

New to this and looking for others with CTO. Im 58 and just got confirmed with it and looking for what I feel is a way back to my life as I knew it. A stent has its risks and my doc says if I'm OK, then live life. I want to run and work out maybe. Can I? Many questions.

I am 67, and nearly two years ago, I had a 100% blockage of my LAD—no stent or bypass was done. My ejection fraction was between 35% and 40%. I visited a local hospital affiliated with a medical college. I completed a Cardio Rehab program there. I was not prescribed dual antiplatelet medications and developed a blood clot in my heart, caused by damaged heart tissue that was not moving.

I visited the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for a follow-up appointment. Now I go to the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and follow their advice. My ejection fraction is now 55%, total cholesterol is 84, and LDL is 34. I exercise six days a week, attending spin classes and walking on a treadmill at a 10% incline for 30 minutes at 3 MPH. Occasionally, I do a HIIT workout involving jogging for 4 minutes and walking for 3 minutes, repeated four times. I also lift adjustable dumbbells at home twice a week. My main recommendation is to visit the Mayo Clinic.
