Nerve damage from cortisone shot

Had a cortisone shot in my back July 21st. The pain that was intense in my calf area darted from the calf to my thigh upon the administering of the shot. I had trouble getting off the table. The intense pain returned to the calf shortly after. The pain became worse after this shot. Then I had an MRI done September 5 to see if I could get the cortisone with epidural done. Got this shot September 10th. The pain is still intense and was told by the dr it's nerve damage which will not be repaired anytime soon. I now have pain killers, creams and sleeping pills with a sedative. Any suggestions to help with this problem?

Should I take another cortizone shot in the future being that the last one damaged my nerve down my leg and feet.

@vicky830 I would say an emphatic 'NO'. After having many injections at the hands of the pain specialists, if they're not doing what they promise to do, and if that injection caused nerve damage, I'd run in the opposite direction. It's not worth the risk. I feel strongly that my last injection contributed to my radiculopathy, which runs from my waist down both sides of my legs, down to the bottom of my feet. As I've researched efficacy of spinal injections, I'm finding many doc DO NOT think they do anything, except make money for the docs who inject. But many insurance companies require that injections be done, before any spinal surgery is done. So sorry you are suffering.

@ladonnai Thank you for your advice..I was a bit confused as what i should do when it comes my back pain and the injections..I totally agree with what you said..and I sure will take your advice and not take any more Injections....i now see that it's all about the money...after the my last Injection..something went wrong because Instead of getting better..I am worst of..not only with pain on my back..but also nerve damage running down my leg to my feet..and when I told the Dr. What i was feeling ..he got highly upset and yelled at me..so..Thanxs again..i will not be taking any more injections on my back..not with the Dr. That for so many years I trusted..or with any other Dr....Good luck to you..Hope you get better..❤️
