Pari e-flow rapid and Tobramycin
My doctor just prescribed inhaled Tobramycin for my pseudomonas and said any nebulizer will work, but I’ve read on this forum that I must use a certain one which will take much longer for me to inhale a dose. Has anyone used it with the Pari e-flow rapid and what were your results? Thanks!

Never mind about my above question. I found out that mesh nebulizers are not suitable for Tobramycin, so I’ll have to use the slow one☹️
When I tried Toby, they were very specific about what nebulizer and cups I should use. So I am surprised your Dr would say that.
I started thinking about that when u mentioned it and she (my dr at UNC) might have said my current nebulizer would be fine, not knowing that I wasnt using the one they gave me when I first went to them - which was the Pari LC. So just wanted to set the record straight on this once I had given it some thought …..
When I was at njh, I made a point to ask several drs there about the e-Flo Rapid and they all said it was fine (for saline and Levabuterol)
Who do you go through to get the Tobi? Someone trying to get me setup thru Walgreen Pharmacy and I know that isn't going to work.
I know who takes care of Brinsupri, but not who you go thru to get the tobramycin.
Mine comes from the UNC specialty pharmacy in Chapel Hill, NC. This the same pharmacy that sends me Brinsupri. My local pulmonologist is also at UNC.

1 Reaction@joyeous My tobramycin came from our clinic pharmacy, but that was 8 years ago. They were all closed after Covid, so I don't know where I would get it today.
@joyeous Toby is available through various Specialty Pharmacies. My prescribing Pulmonologist ordered mine through his practicing hospital Specialty Pharmacy. But we spend several months each year in a different state and the hospital
Pharmacy wouldn’t ship out of state so I was able to find it at CVS Specialty Pharmacy. If you haven’t already done so, I’d recommend checking with your doctor and your Rx insurance carrier about Specialty Pharmacies.

I have received my Tobi now. It really helps! Thankful for something where
we can actually feel relief almost immediately is WONDERFUL.
Taking Brinsupri and also Repatha, but those are not something where we can
expect to feel such quick results. I'm grateful for all the time put in by
people researching and trying to find ways to make life better.
Now if Mayo would unlock my acct... Could not remember password and made
too many attempts. That would be wonderful too.
