Any other woman of a similar age to myself with osteoporosis found hrt helpful quickly? I am just so scared of the other drugs. I have had no fractures yet but I feel they are imminent !!

I discussed this with an endocrinologist and osteoporosis md. Both said the same thing. You will get no improvement in bone density. It might hold what you have for awhile. Prolia for me was very successful. I went from severe osteoporosis at age 57 to barely osteopenia in 4 years. But after 12 years on it I started breaking bones again. Both doctors said the side effects of HRT will outweigh the small benefit. So I will go back to oral Fosamax and keep up weight bearing exercise. I cannot do Evenity or Reclast- trued and horrible side effects.

@pattybaehr I thought with Prolia that once started you are on it for life, or all the bone gained will quickly diminish?

@pattybaehr I have been on HRT for 3 years. Increased my bone density by 5%. Estradiol stops bone breakdown. No side effects. A functional doctor can give you more information. Traditional doctors are not trained on HRT.

I wonder if age now and years between menopause and start of bhrt/bhrt make a difference in outcome?
With your gains are you willing to share that with us? Also, do you take estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and vaginal estradiol and current doses?

Not necessarily. There are those who have transitioned to a reclast for instance and have found that managed Prolia rebound. For others stopping Prolia successfully may have to do with only having one or two shot over the course of a year. That is something you should research and talk with your endocrinologist about.
