Have erection but can't have an orgasm
71, SBRT completed last July, 4 months of Orgovyx. Fortunately, PSA remains undetectable. Testosterone back to my normal limits. Using Trimix now and I can get a solid erection but just don't seem to have the sensation I use to and although pleasurable, it's not intense enough to get me to an orgasm. I keep hoping it's going to return but wonder if it's ever going to happen. I expect some nerve damage from the radiation but radiation oncologist isn't certain. Anyone with a similar story? It's really getting me down. Thanks!

I have found that trimix provides an erection which is good for you wife but the trimix tends to numb the sensation in your penis. I can’t have an orgasm with intercourse after trimix. I can’t have a dry orgasm with stimulation when my penis is soft! Although I would prefer that we could both enjoy intercourse, it is good that my wife enjoys the intercourse and I can stimulate myself to achieve a dry orgasm. Strangely I have developed a stronger sex drive after my surgery but my penis is much small now than before!
@hrmpro11 correction of typo. I CAN have a dry orgasm with self stimulation
Trimix gave me a very painful erection, so discontinued. Taking daily 5 mg Cialis and adding occasional 100 mg Viagra. Somewhat firm erection, but not enough for penetration. No orgasm. Wish I could be more helpful! Limited to foreplay for now, 3 weeks after 18 months of Orgovyx.

1 Reaction@maverick75 Same boat brother. RARP in Oct 25 (64 y/o). Nine months out, undetectable psa and have resumed almost ALL activities. Am able to achieve erection and do get excited. But then, poof, no climax. I have a mild sensation, but nothing comparable an orgasm. Prescribed both cialias and viagra, but no effect. As one post suggested, I think it is mental at this point and just need to get over the hump. Practice makes perfect. But a bit frustrating in the meantime. Good luck!

1 ReactionI'm going with what @retiredguy says.
For those going through treatment, sex changes.
I can and do achieve erections and orgasms.
What's changed?
The obvious, dry orgasms
The less obvious, takes greater mental and physical stimulation to achieve and sustain erection and have an orgasms.
The orgasms I have are pretty intense, not bragging, just saying, it is possible.
I think my wife would grow weary, bored, tired, waiting for me to achieve though just traditional vaginal intercourse, so mixing it up may be the answer.
As others have indicated, this didn't take place right off the bat, it was a gradual process.
Practice makes perfect though...

1 ReactionI’m 71yo and 11 months post robotic prostectomy with no radiation. Have all my sensations back and working on my erections. PSA is undetectable and I only use underwear shields as a backup when I go to church. Couple of times I forgot to use one and made it just fine. I think most problems for guys our age is that we want too much too soon and we overthink things too much. It’s taken some time but I am gradually getting to where I don’t over think stuff. Kind of like when I was a kid and I knew I had to get a shot. I would always overthink how the shot was going to hurt. After the shot I was always like that wasn’t bad at all. Being a guy we tend to overthink things that aren’t even a problem until we make it one. So for now and until things get better I go with the ideal that if things go well and work right then great. If they don’t then I don’t dwell on it. My erections for now are not as firm as I would like but my orgasims, dry, are fantastic and intense. It’s taken time to get where I am at now. For now I am staying away from erection pills. I have included a daily helping of beet root powder in a bottle of water to help with blood flow and nitric oxide. I have also included a daily dose of ashwagandha. This helps with relaxation and sleep. I have also noticed first thing in the morning a sensation in my penis as if it to is waking up. I set my self a plan to never give up and to give myself two years to recover. No stress and no pressure is the key. If you dwell on it it may never happen. My mindset is my body is my choice. I will totally recover and thoroughly enjoy sex again. Not like a teenager but like a 71yo man.
