Hormone Replacement starting at 75yrs old
Doing reach, I have decided to try HRT with testosterone, very low dose. I’m in pretty good health, but was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rhuematica 2yrs ago. I’m Just trying to make a better life with what yrs I have left. There are so many positive messages out there, and yes I’m on the older side. I have 6 daughters and we have all been doing a lot of reading on this subject. Is there anyone else trying HRT at an older age?

I{m 77, 35 yrs ago, after complete hysterectomy , I started HRT, estrogen patches, then to oral, then to injections. bloodwork A+ All regular tests A+ excellent physical health. Recently, my Dr recommended stopping the HRT, due to age, After stopping, not responding well, he refused to Rx estrogen injections,again, instead Rx patches. Neither patches nor pills worked in the past, he is aware of that. Should I look for another Dr.

What were his reasons for stopping your hormones and then declining your previous method for taking them.
Never hurts to get a second opinion if that would help you navigate this.

1 ReactionHe thinks the risks outweigh the advantages. His first mention was my age. I am in the top 2% , health wise for my age. I would never have agreed to stop them if I had known he would refuse to rx them. I’m looking for another gynecologist , in the meantime I guess I’ll try the patches,again , while looking.
