PPPD, Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness...what?

Posted by msmarymac @msmarymac, Jul 12 10:58am

Okay, so two weeks ago tomorrow, I went to a new ENT (first one was many yrs ago). I was told by my gen. Dr. last yr to see this specialist about my non-stop vertigo, but I was SO busy, and had other issues, I kept kicking the appointments down the road till now.
The hearing tests showed my ear drums are pushed back. Could it be from all of those plane barimetric pressures from flying all over the world upteen times? Possible, saith the doctor giving tests. Could be from many head injuries too, or the non-stop ear splitting sirens going off in my town everytime a cat is stuck in a tree, or to let us know it's 12 o'clock, time to eat lunch, five days a week?
Who knows, but the shadow do. 😄
The phantom hearing, phone rings on the right but only hear it on the left, was strange, test results say rt ear better then lt. 🙊
After the test, his new doctor, an older pleasant look guy, ckecked me out, I told him about what my Chiropractor said yrs ago, he can't work my neck in fear of paralyzing me since the top vert. in my neck is pushing in instead of out, by 32°...and dr asked me if this special manuver was ever done, I said yes, I and doctors and I have tried it with no good results. Can't remember the name, want to say Epstein Bar Manuver? So even AFTER telling this dr, he had me on table in sit up position, cranked my neck severly to one side, pushed my upper body down to laying position, cranked my neck to the other side, pushed me back up like a heman-woman-hater, and REPEATED IT AGAIN, so fast I didn't have time to breathe nor beg to STOP crying UNCLE! Remember, 24/7 severe vertigo, is a very surreal place to be, add severe dyslexia, and 18 personalities, it's a wonder I survived this treatment. He thought he was a God, egnoring what I and other doctors said. Never consulting any of my 100's of xrays, MRI's and other tests to arrogantly treat me this way, and exspected me to be healed magically by his God-like hands. I left to catch my bus in time more dizzy thanI arrived. Now for the insult after injury, since he did that Godlike Manuver to me, my neck has been hurting, ofter in sharp pains that sends out crys and whimpers freezing me to "All Stop", don't move moments, AND headaches EVERYDSY SINCE for two weeks now.
Question, is he still alive, yes. I'm a harmless vegan tree hugger, and he should be counting his lucky stars.
Second do I have the stamina to go through years of thrid parties to right this wrong of yet another "doctor" HURTING ME?
Who can help me feel whole again by keeping yet another doctor from harming inocent people again?! I want compensztion, and his license in my hand to burn.
Angry vertigo in Texas.

msmarymac, you had the Epley maneuver. I'm sorry because it sounds like it was roughly administered.
Last week I had vertigo for the first time. The chiropractor showed me how to the Epley on my own while guarding to block any fall from the table. It wasn't very successful and I would have stopped at the emergency hospital but was afraid to turn my head to look for the blind spot when the exit came. I tried the maneuver when I got home and the room stopped spinning. I link this video which explains the the situation https://sleepandsinuscenters.com/blog/epley-maneuver-safety-tips-for-effective-vertigo-relief

Pressure can build up in the space behind your ear causing the eardrum to retract. It is usually caused by eustachian tube dysfunction. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/22072-eustachian-tubes

I hope you find relief. I couldn't do anything while having vertigo.

Lol Epsthein Barr. Sorry everyone but the ROOM IS SPINNING! Thank you gently for your sugestions, but nothing helps, well, booze does, but nothing else.
I'm more interested right now at the, woman hater doctor, who hurt me even more. They took an oath to HARM NO ONE. I'm amazed my 24/7 vertigo allows me to currently construct a duck house (nothing level, nothing square of course) from the ground up and other tideous things being productive. I don't get it, and hope your vertigo subsides so you never have to live with it again.

A crooked duck house, that's pretty funny. I don't know how you did it. Thanks for the kind wish.

If it’s not postural (dizzy when move head), nor ear related, this may have escalated into an anxiety issue.( This happened to me from persistent sinus infection. I could not lift my head all day long.) Do allow yourself to get mental health care and medication, there is no stigma attached, and perhaps it will be helpful, nothing to lose . Pls let us know how you are doing.

Thanks for your responce abob, and sorry you had anxiety but glad you got better. I have already been down the mental health road where they gave me every drug known to man and destroyed my body doing so, not helping my mental health. I learned about my mpd at a hospital and another mpd, I'm good with it, am not ashamed of any of my illnesses. It's called being a survivalist. So no problem there. I don't take drugs unless it's an antibiotic or pain killer. Period. I know my body better than the doctors. It's not anxiety, I'm happy as a lark, love my life and all the no-stop productive things I do giving back and creativity, not bored or lonely, finally got rid of the toxic people around me. Have gone full circle and not missing anything in my life. Quite blessed. I think, between the neck and head injuries, something went wrong that they have not noticed in all of those xrays, cat scans and MRI's. I'm done. I resign to vertigo forever. I just think it's amazing with the room spinning so fast opening new holes of dimensions, I can actually function. Kinda like walking under water with all of the other sea life swirling around me, the tides pushing and pulling me with the flow. There is very little control over this feeling. As long as I'm productive and accomplish things everyday, I'm good. Dizzy, but not sniveling and whining. That's a plus, no? 😃🫠🙃
