@garyr443 I'm not a doctor and have no medical expertise but this sounds like something you should discuss with your doctor as soon as possible to figure out what is causing the symptoms to occur more frequently. You mentioned you have been treated for Essential Tremors (ET) for 12 years. Have you discussed these newer symptoms with your doctor? Do you think they could be related to your ET?

@johnbishop Right! That's what I've been told. I have an upcoming appointment with a new doctor in August. Hopefully, this won't get worse before then.

Well, I have experience with Type 2 Diabetes, which I "cured" (I know people don't use that word anymore, these days, especially doctors who have been influenced by the pharmaceuticals industry) by means of the paleolithic diet beginning in 2007 and continuing daily to the present. New to me, is the subject of peripheral neuropathy, which I am only beginning to discover in myself. My case involves my hands and only started a couple of weeks ago. So far, it has been confined mainly to my right hand (not unusual, as I am right-handed), but has begun to affect my left hand, as well. I am at the point that this is happening in my right hand two or three times per day, but it is only temporary, lasting an hour or two before returning to normal.
One thing I have noticed is that my long habit of rhythmically drumming my fingers seems to help keep this at bay for a while. Still, there is this numbness I feel that creeps in at some point, usually signaling that I am about to lose control over my fingers. I think that, if I use my finger drumming as a deliberate means of exercise, though, I can ward off the impending loss of dexterity....for a while. Of course, I realize that this is not a remedy for my condition, but, so far, it has helped.

I would love to find some kind of therapy for numb feet...I do not have pain.
Have not tried anything but Tai Chi and walking and would like to find out about light therapy. Anyone??

@leelees I have done 7 weeks with a red light boot, and nothing yet

Addendum to my earlier comment: the numbness and loss of control in my hands seems to have subsided since last week. Good! I hope it's gone and never comes back!

@abarth I have the numb feet also. I rub vicks on them and that seems to help me. Also I soak them in Epson salts in warm water for 20 ir 30 minutes, it feels wonderful.

@lindaschoyck Thanks for the information , I have not tried the Vicks yet. I don't get much relief from the Epson salts, I still use the red light boot 20 minutes on each foot, but it may take 6 months to see if anything happens.

@garyr443 You might want to see a neurologist as those symptoms could be a sign of something other than diabetic peripheral neuropathy, particularly since one hand is worse than the other.

@ronvt Ron, I don't think you understood. I am not diabetic, in the first place, having rid myself of Type 2 Diabetes 18 years ago by eating a paleolithic diet. If what I described about my right hand is anything, it is gone now. I don't think it is any type of peripheral neuropathy, either.
