Leqembi: Anyone else taking this infusion to slow dementia?
Hello - My husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease in June of 2023. The doctors at Mayo determined that he would be a good candidate for the Leqembi infusions. He received his 5th infusion today. We are hoping to chat with other folks receiving the infusion to share experiences.
Prayers to everyone dealing with this awful disease.

I have had 9 shots
At the beginning I felt I was worse than I was. After the 6-7 shot I felt I was getting my memory back a little.
I go day to day.
I’m on Aseptic after 3months of infusions.
Good luck
Let’s keep in touch

My wife is going to take the D treatment recommended by her Neurologist because she is early alzheimers, 74 and in good condition overall. Her centoid number is 44. The D is using the drug Kisunla which had side effects but the doctor said he's had good results.(it is hard to quantify what that means) The Treatment is once a month with the follow up MRI to check for blood in the brain. This process is a risk/benefit situation as we all know. I',m moe concerned by the risks while my wife wants the potential benefits and does not want to regret not taking it in the coming years. Has anyone else had a spouse or family member on the D treatment infusion?
Any feedback welcome. I'm going to go to a meeting for support which I found out about from Alzheimers National Association which is very helpful.
thank you and good blessings on all patients and their partners.

3 ReactionsHello, Just going in for my PET Scan today and should be on Leqembi by early August. I still do everything around the house, drive, play mj and dominoes on a regular basis but all my scores indicate the "storm" is coming and I'm battening down the hatches just in case. Seems like a lot when you are 80 and how long do we really have anyways but this is the way we're headed no matter what. Good luck to you and yours.
