Vaginal Bleeding
I am mid 60’s and having vaginal bleeding. It is not a lot, but worrisome since this has never happened. I had a complete hysterectomy over twenty years ago. I am not sexually active. Has Anyone else had this issue.

@max3rn As women at this stage, any vaginal bleeding should be checked out by ob/ gyn. I am in my 70’s when I had a light vaginal bleeding which is not normal at this point. Glad I had it checked and now I need to go in for yearly paps.
What is your doctor saying? .
Hi,
I am going through the same thing...for the second time, as a matter of fact. The first time they did an ultrasound and found nothing out of the ordinary. Then they removed a non cancerous polyp. That was in January.
Same thing started all over again 2 months ago. My Dr. suggested oral hormones to stop the bleeding. I asked if that was a final fix and she couldn't say for sure. But would try until she could get me scheduled for another procedure. I declined the hormones. I have another procedure scheduled for August.
I am on Pradaxa, which is a blood thinner. A side affect of that drug is vaginal bleeding. Soooo this is where I am with all of this right now!

1 ReactionHello...
The bleeding that I was experiencing, had continued until I landed in the hospital with a low hemoglobin count and needed 4 transfusions and an IUD inserted to try and stop the heavy bleeding. Yeah...not fun!
I had gone in for routine blood work and was called on my cell at 3:30AM the following morning telling me to go to the ER because my blood count was so low I might pass out and not regain consciousness and that I needed a transfusion immediately! Silly me, I woke up half dazed and thought it was a prank call....well, who else would call someone at 3:00 AM and say such a silly thing...right? SO I told off that poor lady...(OMG I did!) and hung up!
I REALLY thought it WAS a prank call for about 10 minutes because I was still mostly asleep. And was really mad!! Then I looked at the call log.....YIPES it WAS from my medical provider. I called back that number and was told that whoever was doing my blood work from that day saw that my red blood cell and HGB count were significantly down and that if I didn't come in soon for a transfusion I would be in serious trouble.
Needless to say I got some things together, called my son and went in at about 5:00AM. They kept me the whole next day and overnight because I had 4 blood transfusions, They also inserted an IUD and talked to me about perhaps having a hysterectomy. Unless that was the last step....I said no, because that is major surgery! But I did agree to take the Progesterone.
Two weeks later there are still days of rather heavy bleeding and I just, today, I went into the OB office. My Doctor inspected me to see if the IUD was in place...it was. She asked was I still NOT considering a hysterectomy...I said I was NOT!! Blood work showed yes I am still low. But not as low. I emailed my Heart Doctor and asked if I could be on a lower dose of blood thinner and still be protected. He agreed and put me on 110MG Pradaxa twice a day instead of 150MG.
So that's where It stands with me right this minute...
