Do you experience dizziness with CKD?

Posted by sheeb @sheeb, Nov 17, 2017

I was diagnosed with stage 3B kidney disease a few months back. I am now suffering from dizziness. It’s slmost everyday. My doctor told me to drink a lot of water and stay away from salt. I’m wondering if here is more I can do.

I went do my regular doctor for my dizziness and was told all blood work was normal but that dizziness with ckd is common. My doctor suggested physical therapy which I may try.

Hi there. Next time you go in for labs, ask doc to check osmolality levels or specific gravity also. It checks fluids and nutrition I think. For sure fluid levels. I think the lab name is a CMP panel. Comprehensive med panel. Hope this helps. You say you are drinking more. I weigh 120 lbs, 5'4"tall. I have to drink at least 2 liters to stop feeling dizzy. Sometimes I need more. I am urinating a lot in the night. So I wake up dehydrated and dizzy. It sucks! It is very difficult to drink so much all the time. Sometimes I eat a small dill pickle to make me thirsty so I can drink. I am very anemic and have been my whole life but worse now. I take Procrit shots every week. I used to work out lifting weights and doing aerobics 5-6 days a week. I can't do that anymore. Just once in a while at home now. I do walk outside regularly. Hope this helps.
