Evenity and random hives
Has anyone else had random episodes of mild hives with Evenity? I have had 5 treatments so far and due another next week. Every now and then since #4 (going for days with no issues) I get itching and hives-like redness (but no whelps) mostly on arms and hands with a little on my chest that goes away with Allegra. I never had this before. Seeing doc Monday and will see if it is safe to continue as long as they stay at this level and Allegra takes care of. I have had no other discernible side effects and really hope to finish the sequence of 12.

Evenity is touted as the newest and best osteoporosis bone builder - consider the big picture before you throw in the towel. As you research the side effects of the rest of the osteoporosis medications, Evenity was my 1st choice. I had a little fatigue & bone twinges, but no other side effects for the 12 months.
Thank you for getting back to me.
Thank you for your reply. I hope that for you too.
@anon172 I had some itching about 4 months into my treatment period. It gradually dissipated and it disappeared by the end of the 12 months.
My allergies this year have been the worst ever. My eyes burned and itched for weeks. I had to double up on my allergy medication.
Thank you for getting back to me. Maybe this nightmare itch will go away or at least mellow out. Fingers crossed so I can continue.

1 ReactionI got my very first shot(s) on Monday, June 29, 2026. One shot on the back of each arm. I felt fine, until exactly 1 week later. Woke up Monday, July 6, 2026 with what I thought was a very bad mosquito bite on the back of my right arm, wrong! It was a bad rash on the location where the shot was given. It itched terribly, I also noticed that my left arm where the shot was given also had a rash but no itching. The next day I noticed that the rash got bigger, redder and warmer on both arms. No where else on my body do I have a rash or itching, just at the location of where the shots were given. I think this is normal as long as you do not have trouble breathing, or your face, lips etc. do not swell. My doctor said if I was willing to continue with Evenity, said yes. She advice me for the next shot(s) to take Zyrtec before coming in. This is scary as I am only 61.
@moon4kat
Yes, I experienced hives / rash exactly a whole week later. They were only on the back of both arms, where the injections were given.
