Evenity and random hives

Posted by sandrac @sandrac, Jul 29, 2024

Has anyone else had random episodes of mild hives with Evenity? I have had 5 treatments so far and due another next week. Every now and then since #4 (going for days with no issues) I get itching and hives-like redness (but no whelps) mostly on arms and hands with a little on my chest that goes away with Allegra. I never had this before. Seeing doc Monday and will see if it is safe to continue as long as they stay at this level and Allegra takes care of. I have had no other discernible side effects and really hope to finish the sequence of 12.

Evenity is touted as the newest and best osteoporosis bone builder - consider the big picture before you throw in the towel. As you research the side effects of the rest of the osteoporosis medications, Evenity was my 1st choice. I had a little fatigue & bone twinges, but no other side effects for the 12 months.

My first Evenity injections on Feb 22, and on March 10, my eyes started burning and itching, stye (still have) and swelling. On March 13, itching and hives every day. Constant. I feel sweaty too. Not right. My dr says it might not be Evenity and just allergies. I’m supposed to get my 4th injection next week. I’ve read a couple older posts re itching, but not many. Anyone else get ridiculous itching from Evenity? I’m just considering stopping.

@anon172 I had some itching about 4 months into my treatment period. It gradually dissipated and it disappeared by the end of the 12 months.

My allergies this year have been the worst ever. My eyes burned and itched for weeks. I had to double up on my allergy medication.

Thank you for getting back to me. Maybe this nightmare itch will go away or at least mellow out. Fingers crossed so I can continue.
