Larque bottle
Is the larque water bottle with the UV light only( no carbon filter) good enough to destroy MAC from the water. I know that UV works good for us if it penetrates all surfaces of the container so I really don’t know if I should buy it or not. I have Lifestraw but sucking through the filter hurts my mouth and you can only get small sips.

Many on the NTMinfo.org website swear by it. I believe it kills NTM.

1 ReactionAfter sterilization via UV, it must remain in a darkened glass, container, or the bottle itself. According to Dr. Falkinham, light will negate the sterilization.
Do how do you drink from the bottle? Do you unscrew the cap which actually includes the UV element and drink with all open or is there a sipping tip? I cannot see it on the website pictures.
@lilianna As you probably realize from my previous posts, I am a minimalist, and strongly dislike buying gadgets.
My suggestion id a .2 micron filter at the kitchen tap, or boil the water. Then put it into clean bottles/sippers/etc. No need to buy extra filters and clean extra gadgets, and find places to store things. @irenea8 has a good suggestion about using the Lifestraw pitcher as well.
When we travel, in addition to filling our water bottles before we go, we have a one gallon insulated stainless steel jug - we fill all of these before we go, giving us 2 days of drinking water. Saves $$$ and plastic compared to buying spring water all the time.
Yes you are right. I already had life straw bottle which I don’t use- too difficult to suck on
@lilianna I bought the Life Straw Water Filter Variety Pak. It is probably more important for those that hike and for them in an emergency situation. ???
Glad you posted the information and your experience.
I will probably take it back to Costco.
