What is Your Experience with Anxiety?
Many of us experience anxiety and most every day one of us writes something here about anxiety. I thought I would start a discussion on this topic.
Some have experienced anxiety all of our lives and others experienced anxiety when diagnosed with a serious illness. Some people have panic attacks. Some people have anxiety that affects falling asleep or waking up early in the morning and not able to get back to sleep. We can explore what anxiety feels like to you, what goes through your mind and where you think it comes from. It's all up to you. You might want to share what has helped you as a way to support others on Mayo Clinic Connect.
Your turn. What would you like to share?

@trishwrite1 My primary care physician made a referral to Mayo Clinic Orthopedics for me. It was at least 6 weeks before I received a phone call from Mayo Clinic. If I were you I’d call my doctor to make sure the referral was sent. If yes, then I’d call Gastroenterology and ask about the referral. Did they receive it? You can also ask if they have all the records and images that they need to go forward with the referral.
Which Mayo Clinic? FL, AZ or MN?

1 ReactionFlorida. Thanks for the info!
@trishwrite1 When I called to check on whether my referral had been received I called the main number at Mayo Clinic (in my case, Rochester, MN) and asked to be connected to Orthopedics concerning a physician referral for me. It took a few minutes but I eventually was connected to the person who checked out that indeed the referral had been received.
Good to know. I appreciate your help.

I am currently having some anxiety issues after stopping Pregabalin. I was only taking 50mg once a day ( all I could handle). I stopped it because it seemed to be causing anxiety, dizziness, and irritability, and I just felt like crap. It did, however, help my nerve pain. I didn't want to try to get 25mg ordered just so I could wean off the med and since I only took it for 2 weeks I thought it would be okay to stop cold turkey. Guess I was mistaken. I am still having some anxiety after 7 days and praying it will go away soon. I have an appt with my PCP tomorrow to discuss options.
It's nice to read that others have experienced this and survived. lol

1 Reaction@szucker99 Yes, people have no idea. My Dr wants me to try Gabapentin in place of the Lyrica but I'm not sure I want that. Right now my pain is manageable so I guess I'll wait and see. I would rather deal with physical pain than mental anguish. (and of course I say that while my neve pain seems to be calmed down, lol)
Hope you can get something worked out!
