CBD oil for pain

Posted by timfitz @timfitz, Jul 19, 2016

After trying opiates, and lyrica, and mostly just suffering I tried sublingual CBD which is from the marijuana plant, but has no THC in it, you don't get high. It was very very effective. Not only did it reduce my pain at least 75%, it has a calming effect on the anxiety produced in those of us with chronic pain by the fact we have it. I do recommend it.... Be sure it is from a reliable source. You don't need to smoke anything or get high.

What? Is this an effect of you using too much of the oil?

Thanks. Did it work righta away, or does it take a number of days to feel less pain? Do you still need pain meds with it? Also, how would you describe the level of pain without the cbd/tch?

Topicals work pretty much immediately. Yes, I still take my other meds. I would call my usual pain levels at 4-5 on the scale. The topical CBD does not relieve it all, but definitely helps.

I get zero relief from CBD oil, even a higher dose. I only get sleepy and depressed feeling. I wonder if some people just genetically don't have the ability to feel effects from cannabis products.

I’ve been using a combo of THC/CBD tincture 25mg each 3x daily for pain with pretty good results. It helps me avoid using oxycodone for pain. CBD can help with pain relief and here is a primer. https://www.health.harvard.edu/pain/can-cbd-oil-help-manage-pain

I also have used it to help relieve arthritis back pain and it really helps.

I tried CBD alone and it did not help however once I switched to delta 8 THC I got great relief. I only take 1/3 of the gummy because I don’t want to feel high. The amount of THC is < 0.3% which is negligible. It works great.

CBD isn't the only part of the MJ compound that alleviates pain. THC is also a great drug for relieving pain. Unless you use large amounts of it, you will feel NO high, just more good pain relief. Have been on 50/50 THC/CBD for almost a year. I get no high feeling from the THC as many think. Before you down play a proven pain reliever, you should read all the literature and try it for yourself. In addition to the above I also take a solution of straight THC for breakthrough pain with NO HIGH. I repeat.....NO HIGH, so I guess this makes me an expert. (at least in my own mind.) LOL

@sapphiregirl My understanding is that CBD is the 'supplement' discussed here. CBD is not THC. You can get CBD without THC.

@lindawk I’ve been using the gummies for sleep and it was working great but lately I’ve been awake all night. The gummies are low in THC. The other problem I have is that after taking the gummy, I get headaches. I looked it up and found out it’s the THC giving me the headaches. I’ll talk to the dispensary people.

@lindawk yes you can buy CBD OTC and online CBD without more than 0.03 mg THC per federal law. Problem is the industry is unregulated as are prices.
