Excessive Urination and Thirst is Ruining My Life

Posted by rednikita15 @rednikita15, 4 days ago

I was wondering if anyone has suffered from EXTREME urination and thirst (day and night)? I have been tested for diabetes and other things. I do not have diabetes or diabetes insipidus. I do drink a lot of beer and have for years. It is very hard for me to cut down. I am discussing it with my regular doctor, but I have never known anyone else that suffers as much as I do. I cry a lot of days because I cannot get satiated and I am up every hour at night to use the bathroom. It is getting worse and worse. I am trying Pedialyte but it is just a band-aid. My grandfather died when I was very young and he had kidney failure, but I was told that he was a painter and lead paint caused it. My mom was put in a foster home at a young age, and I know nothing about her parents (as far as health issues, other than they were alcoholics and gave up their kids). I also have non-stop burping all day long. I am completely miserable and am losing my will to go on. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated.

Have you considered that the alcohol may be the problem and quit drinking to find out?

I’m very sorry for your troubles, it must be very difficult for you to cope with this situation. I hope that you have or will see the doctor and get checked out thoroughly to see what might be causing this issue, perhaps there’s medication that can help you with these symptoms. I’m not a medical professional but I know that alcohol is known to draw the fluids from your body and can greatly affect this problem, best wishes to you.

@frouke Thank you for the reply. I appreciate it. I am seeing my doctor again today. I would like to have her check my kidneys out.

@rednikita15 what you put into your body be it food or drink it has to come out. If you drink beer in excess it has to come out which is what is happening and beer is considered a diuretic too. Yers ago when I was a burn care nurse we would give some of our patients beer to maintain their kidney function. You’re making your kidneys work overtime and if you’re drinking after 8:00pm yes you will be up peeing all night.
If you’ve been doing this for many years you’re most likely an alcoholic but I hope not for your sake. But are you addicted to beer, or the motion of drinking the beer or something else? Most of the beer drinking men I know have fairly large beer bellies and I hope this is not you?
